Watch it! University World Cup team draws decided

World Cups 11 September 2019

The road to the biggest university football event ever has just begun!

Portuguese football legend Luis Figo starred in a glittering draw ceremony for the inaugural Kelme 2019 FISU University World Cup – Football that will take place in Jinjiang, China, in November this year.

Sixteen men’s and eight women’s teams were picked from four Pools and placed in Groups of four teams each. There are four such Groups in the men’s draw and two Groups in the women’s draw.

The host teams in both the men’s and women’s fields – Taiyuan University of Technology and Beijing Normal University respectively – were automatically placed in Pool 1.

The rules of the draw also ensured a fine continental balance as two universities from the same country were not placed in the same competition Group. As a result, here are the Groups that will decide the line up of preliminary matches that begin on 21 November 2019.
