FISU President Matytsin launches Accreditation System for FISU Events

FISU 25 November 2015

LAUSANNE – Today, Wednesday 25 November, 2015, FISU President Oleg Matytsin officially launched FISU’s new accreditation system.

Initially, the system will be used for the accreditation of all 34 World University Championships for 2016 and gradually it will be expanded to be used for all hosted activities, including FISU’s major events, the Universiades, this from 2019 onwards.

“This system will provide an excellent solution for all our stakeholders, our National University Sport Federations, the members of the FISU Family, but also for our future Organising Committees it will be much easier to proceed”, explains FISU President Matytsin.

“It’s one of our goals to continuously help our Member Associations. Implementing our own accreditation system makes us self-reliable, but also simplifies the preparatory work for our members. This way we push them to be more active on their national level as well. The system will also create a common understanding of what a FISU event stands for and give an opportunity to our NUSFs to be more efficient preparing their delegations. In the past that was not always easy. Every event it was a different procedure depending on the accreditation system used by the Local Organising Committee. With the FISU accreditation system, we can now save time and money for our host cities and our members and protect the athletes and FISU from any mistakes. It’s another step forward for FISU and the international university sport movement.”
