Healthy Campus new interactive e-book launched

FISU 10 June 2022

FISU launched today a unique and innovative book in the field of well-being for Higher Education institutions.

The 148-page FISU Healthy Campus interactive e-book unveils 130 best practices from 43 certified universities out of the 94 registered in the Programme.

It will have an annual open access edition on the FISU website.

The book is divided in seven chapters, corresponding to the seven domains covered by the Healthy Campus Programme: Healthy Campus management, physical activity and sport, nutrition, disease prevention, mental and social health, risk behaviour, and environment, sustainability and social responsibility.

It presents summaries of each best practice’s main features and shows what is being achieved in the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations.

Links to the respective websites and people in charge allow universities to find additional or more specific information about each initiative.

“Universities registered in the programme have immediate access to what is being produced as a good example. We believe this is an excellent way for universities from all over the world to learn from each other,” said Fernando Parente, FISU Director of Healthy Campus and Universities relations

“Through the Healthy Campus programme, we have found a way to extend our activities to all students, not just elite student-athletes,” said Éric Saintrond FISU Secretary General and CEO.

“This publication, with more than 100 Best Practices from the universities already certified with the Healthy Campus label is an excellent example of benchmarking and realises the goal of improving knowledge, and learning and adapting the best of what is done worldwide in all the domains of well-being,” he added.
