FISU Executive Committee meets with Vice President of Chinese Taipei

TAIPEI CITY – Right after the first day of the FISU Executive Committee meeting in Taipei city, EC members, headed by FISU President Oleg Matytsin, met with Vice President of Chinese Taipei Chen Chien-Jen. The delegation of EC members together with FISU Secretary General Eric Saintrond were greeted in the Office of the President of Chinese Taipei by Mr Chen himself along with Ko Wen-je, Taipei City Mayor, and SU Li-Chiung, CEO of the Taipei Universiade Organising Committee (TUOC).

Vice President Chen highlighted the importance of the Universiade as the biggest sporting event ever in the history of this part of the world. He also expressed his certitude that the Universiade would be a perfect chance to show the world the hospitality of Taipei. In turn, FISU President informed Mr Chen about the approval of the progress report prepared by TUOC shortly before the meeting in the Presidential palace. According to Mr Matytsin, the preparations are going according to the plan, and now FISU and TUOC need also to concentrate their efforts to ensure that the Universiade brings a great legacy to the city of Taipei and its youth.

The meeting culminated with an exchange of gifts between Mr Chen and Mr Matytsin and taking a group photo.
