ERZURUM – Today, January 31st, sessions 5 and 6 in the round robin of the curling tournament at the 25th Winter Universiade in Erzurum, Turkey took placMen’s round robin session 5 saw Czech Republic beat Slovenia 10-2, while host Turkey lost from Korea 3-7. Team Sweden beat Canada 8-4, while Sweden’s neighbor Norway lost from Switzerland 2-9. Great Britain closed this series with an 8-2 victory over Team USA.
In the round robin session 6 Canada beat Slovenia 13-1. Norway beat the Czechs 5-4, while Turkey lost from USA 5-9. Korea defeated Switzerland 10-7 and Sweden lost from Great Britain 3-8.
In the women’s round robin session 6 Team Great Britain beat Japan 8-5, while Russia beat the Czech Republic 8-1. Korea narrowly won from Canada 8-7. China overwhelmed Poland 11-2 and Germany beat host Turkey 8-7.
