Eventually, a nice 15 °C and a radiant sun and a blue sky on May 5th made the closing day of the ski season a great success and provided an original way to promote the Winter Universiade.

In an effort to consolidate Granada as southern capital of winter sports, the swimsuit ski race highlighted an aspect that makes the Sierra Nevada ski resort unique in the world, i.e. its sunshine and spring snow.

The downhill race started at noon from ski station Borreguiles I with a delegation led by Universiade Ambassador María José Rein, who was accompanied by Olympic biathlete Victoria Padial.

The announcement of the frivolous race made via social media platforms and launched a few weeks ago brought together more than hundred participants from different countries, like the United States, France and Germany.
