In Krasnoyarsk, souvenir sales for the upcoming Winter Universiade started via the online store
KRASNOYARSK, RUSSIA — With the 29th edition of the Winter Universiade set to get underway in the heart of Krasnoyarsk Territory, fans of University Sport and hopeful future competitors can now purchase souvenirs via the online store.
With just under 500 days to go until Krasnoyarsk 2019, souvenirs currently available include mobile phone covers, calendars, magnets, badges, notebooks, puzzles, bookmarks and stickers.

Krasnoyarsk 2019 Director General Maxim Urazov said that the launch of an online platform for selling branded products for the Winter Universiade was a welcome event for all sports fans.
“Thanks to the new service, souvenir products with the symbols of the Student Games can now be purchased at any time,” Mr. Urazov said. “I am confident that residents and guests of the city will be happy to buy souvenirs about this great event. They will be an excellent gift for all, and without exception, especially sports fans.”
The current selection of souvenirs is just a start to what’s to come. With the turn of the calendar to 2018, Krasnoyarsk 2019 organisers will significantly expand the assortment of the store. In the coming months customers will be able to order mugs, bags and backpacks, accessories and jewelry, and of course the mascot for the Krasnoyarsk Winter Universiade, the husky dog U-Laiki.
The husky dog was chosen as the mascot as the animal has been helping people in the Krasnoyarsk region for many years and is associated with the real spirit of Siberia and the Siberian Winter. Hence the slogan of this Winter Universiade – REAL WINTER.

At the Taipei Summer Universiade this year in Taipei, souvenir sales totalled over one million USD (30 million TWD). Bravo the bear, Taipei 2017’s official mascot, quickly sold out this summer.
