Partnering in Sport Conference save the date

FISU 27 February 2017

National Conference – save the date! 16 – 18 May, Gold Coast

Australian University Sport and the Australian Institute of Sport are pleased to present the 2017 Partnering in Sport Conference (16-18 May) which will for the first time see the AUS and Elite Athlete Friendly University Conferences held jointly.

Planning for the 2017 National Conference is well advanced, with a number of elements to look forward to that will be different in 2017, including:

•             Combining the AUS National Conference and AIS Elite Athlete Friendly University Conference has created a more varied program, with a very strong line-up of speakers and presenters;

•             AUS had a very active year internationally last year, particularly in Asia; there will therefore be a larger than usual international presence at the Conference providing members with new networking opportunities; and

•             Many members expressed a desire for more workshops in best practice university sport business areas – we will focus more on these aspects and have secured just the right person to help facilitate these workshops.

As per usual, we will slowly be releasing Conference headline acts and features over the coming weeks. In the meantime, here are a few dates to keep in mind:

•             The AGM will now take place on the afternoon of 16 May – note the AGM was previously advertised as being held on 17 May

•             There will be a gala dinner on the evening of 16 May to kick off the Conference

•             Conference registrations open on 6 March and the full schedule will be available then

Do you have a topic for the Conversation Cafe? We want to hear! Please email your topic ideas to siobhan.james@unisport.com.au.

AUS will again provide a subsidy for two delegates per university member to attend the conference. Additional delegates will incur the full conference fee. University EAFU delegates will be funded by the AIS as per previous years (travel costs not included).

Accommodation options will be available and bookings can be made as a part of the registration process. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the conference in May!
