Summer Universiade in Poland?

Oleg Matytsin, FISU First Vice-President with Radoslaw Molon, Vice-Governor of Lower Silesia

WROCLAW Oleg Matytsin, First Vice-President of FISU, has recently visited Poland. Mr. Matytsin met with Rafal Dutkiewicz, the Mayor of Wroclaw, in the presence of Marian Dymalski, FISU Assessor. They talked about the possibility of hosting the Summer Universiade in Poland. In the past, Poznan bid for the organization of the Summer Universiade four times. Mayor Dutkiewicz informed Mr. Matytsin that Wroclaw is seriously considering entering the procedure to organize the Summer Universiade, possibly together with another city. Mr. Matytsin also met with Radoslaw Molon, Vice-Governor of Lower Silesia region and with Andrzej Rokita, Prorector of the University of Physical Education in Wroclaw.

Poland hosted the Winter Universiade twice (1993 & 2001) and is a regular host of World University Championships.
