SU 2015 Bringing the Universiade to the local community

GWANGJU – As the Gwangju Square Ice Skating Rink opened for the season, the Gwangju 2015 Universiade Organizing Committee (GUOC) went to the opening on December 24th to promote the Universiade and encourage the local community to participate in the 2015 World University Games. The GUOC PR department prepared a promotional booth filled with fun games, gifts, snacks, photo sessions with Nuribi (the Gwangju Universiade mascot) and promotional material. Men and women of all ages also wrote encouraging messages to the GUOC and sent their support.

A local citizen, LEE Jung-hwa mentioned, “I am proud that Gwangju is hosting the World University Games for the first time. This is the biggest event that Gwangju has ever held and I hope that it will become a festival for not only the university students, but also for citizens of Gwangju.”

 

The director of the GUOC PR department said, “In order to host a successful Universiade, the local community’s participation is essential. The PR team will do its best to for the Gwangju Universiade to be a welcoming and fun event for all.”
