BERNE – On behalf of the SWISS NUSF the University Sports Department at Berne University under the leadership of Reto Zimmermann and Simone Büchi organized a friendly Sport Competition for Chinese exchange students in Switzerland and Bernese students. With three teams per delegation they played games such as Floorball, Headis and Bubble Football.
The Chinese Ambassador in Switzerland, H.E. Wenbing Geng and SUSF President Andreas Csonka underlined the importance of cultural and sport exchange among the today’s youth which will be the leaders of tomorrow. Mrs Xi Ru, Counsillor at the Education Section stressed the fact that education through sports plays a major role for networking among the students generation. After the intense sports competition, which were held in a friendly atmosphere without a ranking list at the end, all the participants were invited to a delicious Chinese buffet.
Under the umbrella of UNESCO and FISU, the Swiss University Sports Federation will organize more events on 20 September, the official date of IDUS, e.g. in Lausanne, Zurich and St. Gallen.
