FADU New Board took Office

Members of the new Governing Bodies

 

LISBOA – On the October 18th 2010, the new board of the Portuguese Academic Federation of University Sport (FADU) took office for the term 2010/2011.

The ceremony, held in the capital, Lisbon, began with the handover between the outgoing Chairman of the General Assembly Board (MAG), Pedro Soares and the new Chairman, Miguel Portugal who then took possession of the remaining elected members of: General Assembly Board, Disciplinary Board, Council of Justice, Audit Committee, the Board, and finally the new President of FADU Mr. Bruno Barracosa.  

The new Governing Bodies will perform duties during the next year, after which elections are held for a term of two years, coinciding with the period of the Universiade.

Were part of the presidential table, Mr. Pedro Dias, Executive Committee Member of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), Mr. Humberto Santos, President of the Portugal Paralympic Committee, Mrs. Anabela Reis, representing the Portugal Confederation of Sport and Mr. João Roquette, President of the University Stadium of Lisbon representing the Portuguese government. In order of presentation, they said a few words to the audience to congratulate the team headed by President Mr. Luis André Couto in the past 3 years and welcome the new team headed by the new FADU President, Mr. Bruno Barracosa.
