FISU attends FIS Meeting

Winter Games 8 October 2012

ZURICH – On October 5th, the FISU representatives of the WU department Milan AUGUSTIN, WU Director; Jiho KIM, WU Assistant and Roger ROTH, WU CTI Chair attended the FIS Autumn meeting held in Zurich, where all FIS subcommittees had their regular meetings.

Besides meeting many important FIS technicians, a committee meeting of the FIS UNI races for Alpine skiing led by its Chairman Urs SCHUPBACH was scheduled as well.

A full agenda informed all attendants mainly about the past season experiences and the new competition calendar of the European Cups for the upcoming season 2012/2013.

New committee members were warmly welcomed with the important message to use their sports knowledge in order to improve future student alpine races.

During this committee meeting FISU representatives presented an update regarding the 2013 Winter Universiade which will be held in Trentino from December 11 to 21, 2013.

The outcome of this meeting was to exchange good advice and suggestions from previous organizers in order to work closely to coordinate the proposal of the competition calendar for the upcoming season and to avoid any overlaping during the 2013 Winter Universiade.

The next FIS meeting is scheduled for June 5-9, 2013 in Dubrovnik (CRO).
