EUSA Volunteer Program 2011

LJUBLJANA The European University Sports Association Student Commission (EUSA STC) together with the Organising Committees of the European Universities Championships is looking for active students interested in Volunteer Program!

Do you want to gain international experience in organising a sport event?

Are you or your student sport institution planning to organise an international sport event? Join European University Sport Association’s training course to learn more!

Students can participate as supporting organisers at the following European Universities Championships (EUCs) in 2011:

–    Football: Istanbul (TUR) 19.06.-26.06.

–    Badminton: Kharkov (UKR) 20.06.-25.06.

–    Judo: Sarajevo (BIH) 23.06.-26.06.

–    Rugby 7s: Lille (FRA) 29.06.-02.07.

–    Volleyball: Kragujevac (SRB) 10.07.-17.07.

–    Basketball: Cordoba (ESP) 13.07.-20.07.

–    Futsal: Tampere (FIN) 17.07.-24.07.

–    Handball Rijeka: (CRO) 17.07.-24.07.

–    Beach-Volleyball: Malaga (ESP) 17.07.-22.07.

–    Table Tennis: Madeira (POR) 19.07.-23.07.

–    Karate: Sarajevo (BIH) 22.07.-25.07.

–    Rowing: Moscow (RUS) 30.08.-02.09.

–    Tennis: St. Gallen (SUI) 04.09.-10.09.

–    Golf: Otocec (SLO) 06.09.-10.09.

–    Bridge: Warsaw (POL) 19.09.-24.09.

–    Taekwondo: Sofia (BUL) 28.10.-30.10.

Active students from all over Europe can apply for a spot in the EUSA STC Volunteer Program. The candidate will raise their competencies and skills in organising sport event in the European level, get new experiences in different fields, will be useful for the organising committee, exchange knowledge, learn about the culture of the country, get new friends all over the Europe and much more.

The Volunteer Programme includes for example working for the organising committee, supporting the organizers in the competition fields (global coordination, manning information desks, communication between organization committee and referees, guests).

The hosting organisation of each EUC will cover accommodation costs during the organizing period, food and transportation on the spot. The travelling costs to the EUC have to be paid by the student or his/her institution. Minimum two candidates will be accepted per event. Applications can be submitted online at http://volunteers.eusa.eu.

After the nomination, students will get an official invitation to participate in the Volunteer Programme. The applicant will get a diploma after participating in the program. All the participants have to write a short report describing the event and their experiences.

Deadline for submitting the application: three months before a championship starts at http://volunteers.eusa.eu.

The applicants will be selected within a week after the deadline, and they will have to do a final confirmation of their participation within a week’s time.
