Central Bank of Russia launches Commemorative Kazan 2013 Coins

KAZAN The Central Bank of Russia has issued commemorative coins dedicated to the 27th Summer Universiade Kazan 2013. Silver 3 ruble and 25 ruble coins and gold 50 ruble and 10,000 ruble coins are soon to appear in banks of Russia.

The Central Bank of Russia is also going to put into circulation two kinds of 10 ruble base metal coins to mark the 27th Summer Universiade Kazan 2013. 

Silver 3 ruble (31.1g, 23 carats) and 25 ruble coins (155.5g, 23 carats) and gold 50 ruble (7.78g, 24 carats) and 10,000 ruble (1kg, 24 carats) coins bearing the marks of the 2013 Summer Universiade are round shaped and have a diameter of 39.0mm, 60.0mm, 22.6 mm and 100.0mm respectively.

On the reverse side is the Russian crest featuring the double-headed eagle with the words БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) pictured under it. Coins’ nominal face values and year of issuance appear along the circle. Between them there are the chemical symbol of metal (AU for gold and AG for silver), hallmarks, trademark of the Saint Petersburg Mint and net weight of precious metals.

The mintages will be the following: 7,500 pieces of silver 3 ruble coins, 1,500 pieces of silver 25 ruble coins, 1,500 pieces of gold 50 ruble coins and 100 pieces of gold 10,000 ruble coins. The Central Bank of Russia will issue 10 mln pieces of each type of base metal coins. 

Commemorative coins are accepted without limitation for all types of payment as legal tender in the Russian Federation.
