2nd EUSA Games 2014 – Opening Ceremony

ROTTERDAM – On the first day of the 2nd European Universities Games in Rotterdam (Netherlands), FISU First Vice-President Oleg Matytsin thanked the Local Organising Committee and the Dutch Student Sport Association (SSN) for their hard work in organising the event.

During the EUSA reception, held on top of the highest building of the Erasmus University Rotterdam, Mr Oleg Matytsin gave an honorific FISU plaque to EUSA President Adam Roczeck, on behalf of FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien.

During the reception of the local organising committee, Mr Oleg Matytsin gave honorific plaques to Mr Daniël Sikkens, Chairman of the Board EUGames 2014, and to Ms Hester de Vries, International advisor to the Dutch Student Sport Association.

He wished success to all the stakeholders involved in the organisation of the 2nd European Universities Games at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He then attended the Opening Ceremony with Mr Stefan Bergh, FISU Vice-President and CDSU Chair, and with Ms Peninnah Kabenge, FASU Secretary General.

EUSA events have kept growing since the 1st European Universities Games in Cordoba (Spain) in 2012. FISU is proud to support the development of EUSA, which has become a widely recognised sports association in Europe.
