2015 SU: Universiade English School Program Launches

Multisports 28 February 2011

GWANGJU – The 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade Organizing Committee starts to run the Universiade English School Program, for two consecutive years, to develop volunteer resources for interpretation and translation of English.

The program runs twice a year, offering English language education to 610 ‘students’ in each semester. Over the courses of the program, the organizing committee offers global leader courses for middle school students, citizen courses and home-stay courses for host families. The courses take place at eight universities in Gwangju.

The first semester is operated from March to June. Other language courses such as Chinese, French and Spanish are scheduled to open from April.

The Organizing Committee plans to operate the Universiade Foreign Language School Program until 2015. It will provide chances to improve citizen’s foreign language skills as well as to draw interest and participation for the 2015 Summer Universiade.
