After a couple of meetings already organized on governmental and municipality level, the full support for the 2013 WU project in Maribor was reconfirmed by the government and its PM Janez Jansa.

The competition program has been already approved by the Executive Committee of FISU last year 2011 (http://www.fisu.net/medias/fichiers/sports_program.pdf ).

The fruitful discussion with all the institutions involved was followed by a press conference. The many questions of the national media confirmed the importance of this project for the whole country to show the world its capability and tradition in hosting international sport events.
