2013 SU update: Universiade Supervision Committee in Kazan

KAZAN – The 2013 Summer Universiade Supervision Committee meeting took place in the headquarters of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate as part of the 2nd FISU CTI Inspection Visit.

At the beginning of the meeting Vladimir Leonov, Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, made an overview of key areas of the preparations for the 27th World University Summer Games in Kazan. In particular, he talked about the construction progress of sports facilities, mentioned the Games-time accommodation and thanked the partners for their time, energy and expertise to make Kazan 2013 a success.

For his part, Kemal Tamer, 2013 Summer Universiade Supervision Committee Chair, noted that the Universiade was an event of global importance and the role of the committee was to make sure that the 2013 Games were prepared and delivered professionally and in a quality manner at all times.

Azat Kadyrov, 1st Deputy Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, provided an insight into organisational issues required for the Games’ successful implementation and the organisation chart of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate. And Galina Kupriyanova, Deputy Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, offered a detailed report on the technical aspect of the build up to the 2013 Summer Universiade. Specifically, she gave the Supervision Committee members a glimpse into function operating plans and revealed major tactics inventory and methodology put to use in the preparations for the Games.

Dilyara Kashaeva, Director of the HR Department, talked about the human resources recruited in the lead up to the Games. To date, the total number of employees that work in the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate reaches 367 people. She also predicted a strong increase in the number of staff members due to temporary personnel and a large quantity of volunteers.

Liliya Barieva, Director of the Knowledge Management Department, elaborated on the progress made by her division, while Ranko Tepavcevic, Deputy Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, presented a detailed sport competition schedule and accompanying Games-time services.

Presentations of other functional areas will be made within the next few days of the FISU CTI Inspection Visit to Kazan.
