International University Sports Federation examined the progress of the preparations for the FISU Forum and FISU World Conference
KRASNOYARSK – The FISU delegation is on a working visit to Krasnoyarsk, which will last until May 26. Within the inspection visit, the FISU representatives discussed preparations for the FISU Forum 2018, the test event for the Winter Universiade 2019 Organising Committee team, as well as the holding of the FISU World Conference 2019. Both events, aimed to provide the scientists and business representatives with possibility to exchange achievements, knowledge and ideas in sports, will be held under the control and with the assistance of FISU Education Committee.
The selected venue for the FISU Forum, which will take place from August 6 to 10, 2018, is the Congress hall of the Siberian Federal University. The programme implies various formats: plenary sessions, training seminars, project activities, and also the Forum Fair, where the participants and the delegation members will be able to get information about development of student sports in other countries, about the events and future competitions of FISU, cultural traditions of participating countries.
Expected number of Forum participants varies from 250 to 300 participants from 60 countries of the world. Around 300 volunteers will be involved for the work during the event. During the meeting with representatives of the FISU Education Committee, the following topics were discussed: ceremonies and protocol, accommodation and meal service for guests, accreditation, media coverage of the Forum and sports programme.
The second educational project, the FISU World Conference, is scheduled for the beginning of March, 2019, in the Siberia International Exhibition and Business Center. Advisor Director General of the Executive Directorate of the 29th Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 Konstantin Gureev presented to guests the potential partner, which is expected to be relied on within the preparation for the Conference – the Siberian Federal University. This institution of higher education has a great potential in terms of scientific research, and experience in holding major events of different formats.
With regard to the Conference, university-partner shall select the speakers on the part of the Russian Federation, carry out assembly and verification of the reports, and form the final conference information package in English and Russian languages. Adoption of the main theme and sub-themes, issue of the first information bulletin, approval of the identity, etc. are planned for 2017.

We are pleased to see how efficiently the Organising Committee is working and doing everything that is possible in order to make Forum and Conference participants feel at home. I’d like to mention that support of the Siberian Federal University is very important not only in terms of science, but also when it comes to the promotion of the events in the world scientific community” – noted the Chair of FISU Education Committee, Verena Burk.
