Crew Brazil 2 skipped by Decnop
NICE – Yesterday, September 8th, the 6th World University Match Racing Championship in Nice came to an end with the final battle for the gold.
The contending delegations started full confidence at their last race as they were sure to gain the titles since they qualified their two crews for the finals yesterday. So Brazil and Australia knew that they would leave Nice as world university champions! However, the winners’ names remained unknown. Saturday afternoon, the finales delivered their verdict.
Crew Australia 2 skipped by Gilmour
For the women, the Brazilian crew skipped by Decnop dominated its fellow compatriots crew skipped by Senfft in the term of 3 great matches (2-1). For the bmen, it was the second Australian boat skipped by Gilmour who beat Griffin in two matches. The bronze medals for women and men went to France (Julie Bossard) and Great Britain (Shaw) respectively.
