BUENOS AIRES – A FISU delegation attended the first edition of the Olympism In Action Forum held on 5 and 6 October at the occasion of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires.

In addition to the participation to fruitful discussions on diverse topics such as the future of sports in our modern societies, women and sport but also the challenges of hosting major sport events, the forum was a key platform for networking with and exchanges between the world’s most important sports stakeholders.

With more than 1,500 accredited participants representing National Olympic Committees, IOC committees but also a number of International Federations as well governmental and non-governmental organisations, the forum offered opportunities to promote and exchange about FISU’s longlasting and recent projects and to initiate partnerships.

FISU will also be present during the entire period of the Youth Olympic Games through a partnership with its Argentinian member association FeDUA, both organisation hosting the House of University Sport inside the Youth Olympic Park, one of the four competition and entertainment parks of the YOG 2018 concept.

The House of University Sport, which was officially opened by FISU President Oleg Matytsin on Sunday, will host local spectators willing to hear about the activities organised in Argentina to enable students to practice sports within universities but also participants of the Youth Olympic Games willing to hear about FISU’s upcoming events of which they hope to be part.

The official opening of the House of University Sport gathered prestigious guests including Mr. Jeno Kamuti, president of the International Fair Play Committee, Mr. Laurent Petrynka, president of the International School Sport Federation as well as many representatives from International Sports Federations and organisations. FeDUA was represented by members of its Executive Board and its President Emiliano Ojea, who together with FISU President Matytsin officially cut the red ribbon to declare the House open.

The House of University Sport will operate until the end of the Youth Olympic Games, daily from 9:00 until 18:00 local time.
