21st WUC Handball – Day 4 of Competitions

BLUMENAU While the women’s teams had a day-off at the 21st WUC Handball in Blumenau, the men’s teams continue to chase the ball on June 27th.

The competition day started with an Asian clash between Korea and Kuwait. The Koreans did not encounter many difficulties to walk over the Kuwaiti defense and won with a difference of 27 goals, finishing the game with a 48:21 on the scoreboard. Nevertheless, the top scorer of the game was Fahad Alhjri from Team Kuwait.

While the Koreans earned the match on court two, the game between Turkey and Chinese Taipei began on court one. A game that marked the force used by the Turkish team against the lightness and agility of the Asians. The match was decided in favor of Turkey with a tight score of 36:33.

The climate began to warm up with the play of the strong teams from Poland and the Czech Republic. A tight game finished with a Polish victory with only 3 goals difference. Final result Poland vs. Czech Rep: 24:21.

In the fourth game of the day, host Brazil played against the strong Portuguese team which played vigorously, keeping a tight score a head of their distant cousins. But at the end of the second half Portugal managed to close the gap tying the final score to 32:32.
