KUORTANE – The countdown for the 10th World University Wrestling Championship will reach the landmark of six months in a few days. The Organizing Committee is expecting to receive general entries from plenty of countries on that day, April 2nd, at the latest. So far, around ten countries have expressed their aim to participate in this traditional event which will be hosted this time by the beautifully-settled lakeside resort of Kuortane Sports Institute inWestern Finland.
We are kindly recommending participants to submit the entries via theFISUOnline registration system, http://www.wuc.in-1.it.
In order to use the system,FISUhas sent user codes and passwords to all national university sports federations. If it’s not possible to do the registration online, the entry forms can also be downloaded from the tournament website: http://www.wucwrestling2012.com
In addition to the regular meetings, the Organizing Committee is preparing itself towards the Championship by being actively involved in the Olympic Games World Qualifying Tournament in Wrestling which will be held inVantaa,Finlandin early May. We are convinced that the fluent co-operation between Kuortane Sports Institute, Finnish Wrestling Federation and Finnish Student Sports Federation will guarantee very satisfying conditions and smooth running of the Championship for all participants. We warmly welcome the student athletes from all over the world to Kuortane in October!
