15th WUC Futsal – Wrap-up Day 7

GOIANIA/ANAPOLIS – The International Gym Newton de Faria, in Anápolis, witnessed two heavy defeats this Friday (8), in the 15th World University Futsal Championship. One of them was in the match between Portugal and New Zealand, with the Lusitanian team defeating the opponent by 13-0.

The match against the men’s team of China was an easy game for Israel. The three goals scored by the Israelis in the first half already indicated a positive result for the team, which ended the dispute defeating the Chinese by 9-1. The number 4 of Israel, Jubran, scored twice and was the top scorer of the match.

The first game of the men’s quarterfinals was held at 2 pm on Friday (8/7), in Goiânia Arena Gym, in Goiânia. The Czech Republic faced Thailand and won by 3-2.

Russia went smoothly against Kazakhstan and will now face the Czech Republic in the semifinals on Saturday (9/7). The 15-0 score was built easily. Since the beginning of the match, the Russians showed their technical supremacy.

FRA vs ARG

The men’s game between Argentina and France was decided in the last minute. French top scorer Nassim Boudebibah ensured the victory ending the game with 4-3 in favor of ‘Les Bleus’.

In the last game of the day, between Brazil and Germany, the victory was for the home team, with 5-3 score after a hard fought match full of emotions, and with intense participation of the crowd. Now, Brazil will face France in the semi-finals, this Saturday (9/7), at 1 pm, in Goiânia Arena Gym.
