15th WUC Futsal – Update Games Day 4

ANAPOLIS – The Canadian women managed to beat Bolivia by 4-1 in the International Gym Newton de Faria, in Anápolis, after the loss they took from Brazil on Monday (04). In yesterday’s match, Canadian athletes had no trouble to score their goals and they let the opposing team score only once.

With a very well executed technique, the German men’s team managed to recover from the defeat against Russia on Monday (4). The game on Tuesday (5) against China was with a great ball possession and rehearsed moves that gave them the victory of 7:3 against the Chinese team.

With a game well unrolled, more court movement and also more attack, the men’s team from Israel that came into court on Tuesday (5) against Kazakhstan did not seem the same team that played against Brazil and lost on Monday (4). The Israeli tied the game 3:3.

On Tuesday (5), the New Zealand men’s team was defeated by Argentina with three goals difference, resulting in a score of 4-1.

With a strong performance on both sides, the match between the women’s teams from New Zealand and Kazakhstan ended in draw in 2-2. Kazakhstan has made big plays and reached the score in the second half of the game. Nevertheless, the technique and the defense of the opposing team hampered new scoring chances.

The celebration of the Mexican players after the match against Argentina in the women’s tournament stirred the crowd of the International Gym Newton de Faria, in Anápolis. The 7:1 score reinforces the hope of the Mexican team to continue unbeaten in the competition and return home with medals.

The Portuguese women’s team recovered quickly from their penultimate match, when the team lost by 2-0 to Russia. This Tuesday (5), the selection faced Colombia and managed to beat their opponents with a score of 9-0.

A heated game between the men’s teams of France and Thailand marked the fourth day of the 15th World University Futsal Championship, at the International Gym Newton de Faria, in Anápolis. The Thai team finished the game winning with a tight score of 3-2 and needed to redouble its efforts to block the French attacks in the final moments of the match.
