Upcoming education event opportunities for cities, students and sport officials

FISU 19 January 2018

Providing educational services and putting on incredible educational programmes is at the core of FISU and the University Sport Movement.

The same qualities that drive student-athletes to succeed in sports are also keys to helping them be leaders in both business and their communities. FISU is part of the student-athlete team, helping them develop the skills they will need to be tomorrow’s leaders.

Here are two can’t miss opportunities for student-athletes and sport officials — and one tailor-made for cities looking to position themselves as a destination for young people to study, visit and work while also boosting their international sporting profile.

Looking for a scholarship to a top-tier Master of Sport Administration programme?

Once again, the Russian International Olympic University based in the Winter Olympic city of Sochi invites NUSFs to submit a candidate for a scholarship to study for a Master of Sport Administration.

This one-year full-time programme to further develop professionally in sports management, is endorsed by the International Olympic Committee and is set up to produce a new generation of effective sports managers with both strategic and operational skills needed at the highest levels of sport event staging.

FISU is very pleased that the Russian International Olympic University invites FISU again to put forward a candidate for a full scholarship to study on RIOU’s Master of Sport Administration programme 2018-2019 edition. Its not just FISU Committee members racing about this educational opportunity. Here’s what 2016 FISU Scholarship recipient and 2017 RIOU graduate Ivo Carvalhosa of Portugal had to say about the studies in Sochi, which he parlayed into an internship with FISU at the Taipei 2017 Summer Universiade:

“It was a once in a lifetime experience that allowed me to improve many skills. The Master of Sport Administration programme is very well developed, which allowed my class to learn new materials and solidify this freshly learned knowledge. The environment of the university and of the city is wonderful.”

-Ivo Carvalhosa, FISU 2016 RIOU Scholarship winner
