FISU Vice-President awarded Doctor Honoris Causa

POLAND/UKRAINE – On 22 September FISU Vice-President Marian Dymalski was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa at Lvov State University of Physical Education (Ukraine) for his lasting contribution to the development of university sport and the promotion of bilateral relations between Poland and Ukraine in the field of sport and youth. Mr Dymalski gave a lecture at Lvov State University of Physical Education on the activities of FISU and encouraged the Sports Students Union of Ukraine to take an active part in these activities.

The Polish delegation led by the Secretary of State from the Ministry of Sport of Poland Jaroslaw Stawiarski was heartily welcomed by his Ukrainian counterpart Mr Oleg Nemchinov. At the joint seminar, the parties exchanged their ideas and experience how to attract young people to sport, considering new environment and new trends in sport and technology. At the end of the meeting, Polish Student Sport Union (AZS) and the Sports Students Union of Ukraine (SSUU) signed an association agreement. The parties expressed hope that the geographical and cultural vicinity of Poland and Ukraine will facilitate international student friendship.
