Glasgow. Four members of the FISU Education Committee attended the ICSEMIS2012 conference being held in Glasgow, Scotland between 19-24 July, 2012. These included Alison Odell (Chair)(GBR) and Anthony Davis (JAM) pictured here, and also Gyongyi Foldesi (HUN) and ZHONG, Bingshu (CHN). This is the second edition of the International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport, and is the pre-Olympic sport science convention drawing in delegates from over 70 countries from some of the world’s most prestigious universities including Yale, Harvard and MIT. The conference programme main theme was set around “Sport – inspiring a learning legacy” and offered more than 200 sessions about every discipline linked to sport – from philosophy to the physiology of exercise. Alison, Anthony and Gyongyi took the opportunity to meet with the President of ICSSPE, Prof. Margaret Talbot OBE, to review potential areas of co-operation between FISU and ICSSPE in the future, and also took the chance to renew contact with a number of colleagues who had previously presented at past FISU summer and winter conferences.
