FISU present at International Fair-Play Committee’s 50th Anniversary and Awards

PARIS - On Wednesday evening, 18 September 2013, the International Fair-Play Committee was celebrating the 50 years of its foundation. The Ceremony took place in the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. It was also the occasion for Mr. Jenö Kamuti, the President of the IFPC to give the 2012 awards. FISU was represented by Oleg Matytsin, who in his capacity of 1st Vice-President has a seat on the board of the IFPC. He was accompanied by the Director of Educational Services Kolë Gjeloshaj.

Mr. Matytsin presents Dr. Kamuti with a vintage FISU pin collectionThe Ceremony was opened by her Excellency Katalin Bogyay, President of the General Conference of UNESCO. Many famous figures of sport attended the event, i.e. Lord Sebastian Coe who received the Jean Borotra World Fair Play Trophy for sport career and life in the spirit of Fair-Play; the French cyclist Raymond Poulidor; the President of the International Paralympic Committee Sir Philip Craven and the former President of the Republic of Hungary and former Vice-President of the IOC, the fencer Päl Schmitt.  

In his conclusion, Mr. Jenö Kamuti mentioned the growing cooperation with FISU and the programme developed together during the last Summer Universiade in Kazan.
