FISU leaders discuss Future of University Sport in China with Xiamen Vice-Mayor Guo Guirong

FISU President with Mrs GuoXIAMEN – On 23 October, 2016 FISU President Oleg Matytsin and Secretary General/CEO Eric Saintrond had a business lunch with Vice-Mayor of Xiamen Guo Guirong. During the meeting, where Vice-President of Huaqiao University Xu Xipeng and Deputy Director of Xiamen Sports Bureau Fu Xiaochun were also present, parties shared their ideas on the role and the future of university sports in China. The meeting took place in the framework of the 3×3 World University League Finals, which for the second consecutive time were hosted in Xiamen. FISU President took the opportunity to thank Vice-Mayor Guo, saying that combined efforts of the authorities of the city, Huaqiao University and the Federation of University Sports of China helped to stage a great sporting event. Mrs Guo, in turn, assured the guests of Xiamen’s standing commitment to promoting university sports and showed interest in increasing cooperation with FISU.
