SHENYANG – At 13:00, in the afternoon of 14 September, the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Asian University 3×3 Basketball Championship took place at Northeastern University in Shenyang, China.
AUSF Senior Vice-President Omar AL-HAI, AUSF Vice Secretary-General and FUSC Vice-President XUE Yanqing, AUSF Assessor JARGALSAKHAN Dorjsuren, Sectary-General and Vice-President of Northeastern University (NEU) WANG Jianhua, Technical Delegate YOON Wai Sun and other officials were present at the Opening Ceremony.
In his welcome speech, Mr. WANG Jianhua extended his warmest welcome to all the participants coming from afar. He introduced NEU’s sports history and promised that the university will serve the game at its best. He believed that it is a great opportunity to promote the development of 3×3 Basketball in China and in Asia. Then, Mr. Omar AL-HAI, on behalf of AUSF, gave his thanks to FUSC and Shenyang, China, and praised the Department of Education of Liaoning Province and NEU for their hard work and expressed his expectations of the first AUSF 3×3 basketball championship.
Consequently, Mr. XUE Yanqing, AUSF Vice Secretary-General and FUSC Vice President announced the opening of the championship, which put the opening ceremony into a climax while the oaths of player and referee followed. The Opening Ceremony ended after the cultural performances themed as “China Welcomes You” and “One Asia, One Family”.
