The Lausanne in Motion Festival returns!

LAUSANNE – The press conference about the second edition of the Festival ‘Lausanne in Motion’ (LIM) was held at the University of Lausanne at Innovation Park on Tuesday, 20 September announcing the celebrations of the first ‘International Day of University Sport’ proclaimed by UNESCO.

FISU Secretary General/CEO Eric Saintrond; Mr. Romain Détraz, ambassador of ‘Lausanne in Motion’, Pauline Hamonic, coordinator of the FISU Festival and of course Mr. Georges-André Carrel, President of the LIM Organising Committee were present at the press conference as well as Marta Lilla Klincewicz, Project Director at the Technology Laboratory of Polymers and Composites (LTC) who hosted the press conference on its premises.

This Saturday, 24 September, Place de la Navigation d’Ouchy will host the 2nd edition of the Festival ‘Lausanne in Motion’. This event aims to promote the university sports movement. The public can test various physical and sports activities from 11h00 to 20h00.

The rich programme of the day includes a score of activities, ranging from dance to fitness, through combat sports and the grace of pole dancing. Closer to the lake, towards the Place du Port, it will be possible to indulge in a nautical activity, Stand-Up Paddle and also archery.

The event has the support of its ambassadors, present throughout the day. Simona Meiler (student at ETH Zurich), snowboard cross student-athlete who competed at the Universiade and the Olympics, will be present for interviews. Her French-speaking compatriots from the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne, Valentine De Giuli (archery), Romain Détraz (ski cross) and Quentin Zeller (volleyball) will also be available to meet with the local public and with the media.

The event is organized by FISU with the support of its partners and the collaboration of the Vaud Canton, the City of Lausanne, Swiss University Sports Federation (FSSU), the University of Lausanne and EPFL. Media coverage is provided by Eurosport, la Télé, LFM and Lausanne Cités, while Sil Citycable, Rivella and Public Transport Lausanne are the exclusive partners.
