FISU Forum 2016: D-75!

PARIS – At 75 days to countdown towards the opening ceremony of the 13th FISU Forum in Montpellier (4-9 July), a preparatory meeting was held at the headquarters of the FFSU in Paris, in the presence of elected representatives and two Federations.

Present at the table: Verena Burk (1st Assessor of FISU, Chair of the FISU Education Committee), Kole Gjeloshaj (FISU Director of Educational Services), Jean-François Sautereau (President FFSU , member of the FISU Education Committee), Arnaud Richard (Vice-President FFSU and Chairman of the local Organising Committee), Vincent Rognon (FFSU National Director), Christopher Millard (National Assistant Director FFSU) and Damien Bardot (FFSU Director Communication and Partnerships).

This meeting allowed to address the various key points of the organization:

– General program and places the forum;
– State participation;
– Financial aspects;
– accreditation;
– Reception and accommodation;
– transportation;
– List and schedule of speakers;
– Official documents;
– Opening and closing ceremonies;
– Communication and promotion;
– Protocol.


For the first time in its history, the French University Sports Federation will host the FISU Forum.

Around the main theme “Origins to the Future of University Sport” chosen for this edition, several conferences, workshops and sports activities will be organized throughout the week, in the Montpellier Universities. They will take place in a spirit of exchange, sharing and reflection, in line with the main objectives of the forum: developing and strengthening the international university sports movement, promoting interaction between all involved in sport within schools of higher education, play a role in the learning and communication platform in the world.

The opening ceremony will take place at the Corum in Montpellier on 4 July at 9am.
The closing ceremony will be held on 9 July, 2016, at the City Hall of Montpellier.
