7th WUC Cycling Officially opens

TAGAYTAY – After two days of accreditation and practice on the roads of Tagyatay and Canyon Woods, the 7th World University Cycling Championship was official opened on Wednesday 16 March in presence of no less than three FISU Executive Committee members, Marian Dymalski, FISU Vice-President, chairman of the CTI WUC chairing the CISCA for the event, Mr. Yang Liguo, FISU Vice President invited by the Organising Committee and Ms. Rosaura Mendez, head of the Costa Rican Delegation. After the welcome address of the FESSAP President, Mr. David Ong, Marian Dymalski reminded the audience that it was the first time the event travelled outside of Europe and thanked the participants to have travelled all the way to the Philippines.

Athlete’s Oath

The 120 participants coming from 16 countries and 5 continents enjoyed the protocol part of the ceremony before a relaxing dinner by the pool of the Canyon Woods resort animated by local dances and performances.

The Championship will start on Thursday with the two criteria, men and women and you can find more information on the website of the event www.wucc2016.com
