Panamerican Congress on U Sports in Venezuela – day 2

PUERTO DE LA CRUZ – While the first day of the 1st Pan American Congress on University Sports, the Forum of the FISU America, held in Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela, was dedicated to a general presentation by the FISU 1st Vice President Leonz Eder, “FISU – a global organization for the development of University Sport”, an introduction about the Educational System of Venezuela by Hugbel Roa, Minister of Education for Universities, Sciences and Technology and an overview on the development of FISU America by its President Alim Maluf Neto, during the second day several presentations were made by local, continental and global speakers.

Ana Alejandrina, Rector of the ‘Universidad Nacional Experimental Simón Rodríguez’ reflected on the influence of sport for the peace of a country. Hugo Vigletti, President of COSUD from Uruguay, spoke on the ‘Formidable influence of University Sports for the Social Integration’. Inés Gómez from Argentina, member of the FISU Educational Committee, presented the different programs of EduC including the International Day of University Sports, the Volunteers Camp in Kazan etc., while Laurent Briel, FISU Director for Development and Relations to the National University Sports Federations, explained the system and the content of the FISU Development for the Continental and National University Sports Federations. Finally CBDU President and FISU Vice President Luciano Cabral introduced the Development and Marketing of the CBDU Brazil which has a huge success by attracting thousands of students in many sport events in all part of Brazil, and FISU Board member Rosaura Mendez from Costa Rica reflected on the Gender Equality in University Sports.

 The successful Congress concluded with traditional music and a fitness presentation for a healthy life style.
