ODUPA Meets in Montevideo

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports discussed the state of affairs of the country in terms of sport

 

The Executive Board of the Pan-American University Sports Organization (ODUPA), met in Montevideo, Uruguay from September 11th to 13th. The meeting was attended by authorities of the institution and of the Liga Universitaria de Deportes, the Uruguayan University Sports Federation.

The meetings boasted, among other actions, the visit from a delegation of authorities of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports on Friday night at the offices of LUD, attended by Dr. Héctor Lescano, Minister, Antonio Carámbula, Under Secretary, Nicola Cetraro, Head of Infrastructure and General Management of the National Sports Bureau, and Víctor Porratti, Head of Public Relations of said Bureau.

Among the members of ODUPA who came to Montevideo were Ms. Rosaura Méndez, of Costa Rica, Treasurer of the Organization, and Mr. Eduardo Ramírez, of Perú, General Secretary.

During the visit, Minister Lescano presented the overall state of affairs of Uruguayan sports in all its disciplines, and mentioned the work of the Liga Universitaria, which continues its path contributing to the education of university students for life and society, through amateur sports competition.
