6th WUC Boxing - Historic first for FISU as Women’s Boxing debuts



YAKUTSK – The 6th World University Boxing Championship in Yakutsk will be recording additionally for an important feat – the debut of women’s university boxing bouts. In the event participation list, there are 7 girls out of 78 participants at this World University Championship. Six girls have already taken their first bouts yesterday, 11 September.

The weight category – 51 kg. Sayaana Sagataeva (RUS) and Bolortuur Tumurhuyag (MGL) were the first girls who started the bout. They started immediately without any pauses, just attacks. After some time we could see the superiority of Sayaana Sagataeva. Bolortuur Tumurhuyag didn’t want to agree with those circumstances and then started to attack too. But Sagataeva continued to adhere to chosen tactics. After the last round everybody was sure that she would become victorious.

In the same weight category Bak Chorong (KOR) faced Yulia Koroli (MOL). The Korean was smaller than Yulia Koroli but her attacks were direct and accurate. The attacks of Koroli were inaccurate and weak. In the last round Bak Chorong became more active and finally dominated her opponent winning the bout.

The third female bout was in the weight category – 60 kg. There was the Russian-Mongolian opposition again: Myagmar Gundegmaa (MGL) and Anastasia Belyakova (RUS). It was quite difficult to define who would become victorious. Belyakova defended safely and successfully, blocking all attacks. Finally she won the fight.
