All Roads lead to Xiamen: Arrival of 3×3 WUL Student-Players

XIAMEN – The 3×3 FISU World University League final will take place from 21 to 23 October, 2016 in Huaqiao University, Xiamen (CHN). In total, 32 teams (16 teams of each gender) from 23 countries representing five continents will compete to win the tournament of this year’s FISU 3×3 WUL.

“It’s been my first time to come to China, also my first time to play in an international game. I wish I could do well this time.” Said Max Bielfeld, the center of team Indiana University (USA), arriving at the Xiamen this afternoon.

Teams from Argentina, Brazil, France, Russia and Chinese Taipei have arrived, and all the other teams will arrive before 19 October, when the official training will be arranged on the campus of Huaqiao University. The technical meeting including the team draw is going to be held on 20 October.

All the teams will play in groups from 21 October and the individual contest, Slam Dunk for men and Shoot-out for women will be held from the next day.

This is the second year FISU is hosting the World University League. The success of the first edition will be repeated thanks to the close cooperation with FUSC and Huaqiao University, as well as Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Sports and People’s Government of Jimei District.
