2012 WUC Update: Gwangju to welcome the Best Student Badminton Players in 2012

BRUSSELS The 12th World University Badminton Championship will be held from November 9th to 14th, 2012 in Gwangju (KOR).

The city of Gwangju where the passion for education is among the most fervent in Korea is the home of some 65 colleges and universities which will strive to make the World University Championship a festival for and by university students.

Gwangju is renowned as a city of tradition, culture and art and thus diverse programs will take place during the 12th World University Badminton Championship in order to bring the students an overview of the Korean culture and drive them to become ambassadors of the city.

As usually in Asia, badminton is a very popular sport in Korea and the organization of this World University Championship in Gwangju will be a festival gathering the best student badminton players around one main objective: become the new World University Badminton Champions.

For Gwangju it will also be a first taste of a FISU event as Gwangju will host the Summer Universiade in 2015.
