At the FIS Autumn Seminar in Zurich last week, with FIS President Gian Franco Kasper and FISU delegates Milan Augustin, Director for the WU and Roger Roth, Chair CTI in attendance, the Ski Resort of Sierra Nevada signed an important agreement providing assistance, infrastructures and formation to the Moroccan Ski Federation and the Oukaimaden Ski Resort, the main winter sport resort in the Atlas mountain range.

‘The agreement totally corresponds with the philosophy and spirit of the International Ski Federation’, said FIS President Kasper, ‘promoting skiing in emerging nations.’

‘I’m convinced that this cooperation agreement will be a catalyst for Moroccan athletes to participate in the 2015 Winter Universiade in Granada’, said María José López, Director-General of Cetursa Sierra Nevada.

FADI (Andalusian Federation for Winter Sports) President and FIS Vice-President Eduardo Roldán said that with this agreement, Sierra Nevada, already a reference for top level alpine, freestyle and snowboard competitions, will also convert itself to a reference for the promotion of winter sports using the programs the Spanish Federation of Winter Sports and the Sierra Nevada Resort will develop for the 2015 Winter Universiade and the FIS European and World Cups which will be held as test events for the 2015 Winter University Games.
