21st WINTER UNIVERSIADE
Tarvisio, Italy - January 16th - 26th, 2003
Stamp
Almost every important event has its own stamp, Tarvisio 2003 has indeed its own too. The Tarvisio 2003 stamp was issued on January 16th, 2003 the day of the Opening Ceremony. It has been included in the group of stamps “The Italian Sport” and costs € 0,52; 3.5 billion copies have been made. Poste Italiane sold two postcards connected with the event in all the Italian philatelic offices. The first postcard was released on January 3rd, 2003. It shows the map of Italy with a magnifying glass on the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. The second postcard was released on January 16th, the same day of the stamp’s release and depicts some of the details of the stamp itself.
