The Sports Managers sign their contract
Bozidar Djelic, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia together with FISU President Killian
On November 30th, Mr. George E. Killian, FISU President and Mr. Sinisa Jasnic, FISU Assessor and Vice-President of the 2009 Universiade met with Mr. Bozidar Djelic, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia. The purpose of the meeting was to analyse the state of the preparation of the 25th Universiade. This meeting was held just before the board meeting of the Organising Committee. Mr. Killian attended the board meeting together with Mr. Eric Saintrond, FISU Secretary-General and Mr. Kolë Gjeloshaj, FISU Director of Educational Services and Chief of Staff to the President.
The board meeting was held in presence of two Serbian Ministers, Mr. Mirko Cvetkovic, Minister of Finances and Mrs. Snezana Markovic-Samardzic, Minister of Youth and Sports. It was the opportunity for Mr. Djelic, to remind how important it was for the Republic of Serbia to welcome the Universiade especially concerning the legacy in terms of Sport venues, implication of the volunteers and to make Serbia better known internationally.
Another ceremony was organised in the afternoon with all the sports managers. During a public ceremony, they were invited to officially sign their contracts in attendance of the highest sport authorities of the country and the media. This ceremony was attended by Mr. Killian and by members of the FISU Executive Committee such as L. Eder (SUI), M. Dymalski (POL), O. Matytsin (RUS) and other members of the FISU Family.
