2007 SU: Thai VIPs Visit FISU HQ

Today, April 18th, the FISU Headquarters was honoured with a visit of the Thai Minister of Education, His Excellency Dr. Wichit Srisa-an. He was welcomed by FISU Secretary-General Roch Campana, FISU Director-General Eric Saintrond, Director WUC Laurent Briel and Director of Education Kole Ghelosjah. Present also were FISU Treasurer Mr. Outeiriño and FISU Auditor Mr. Gagea. It was a happy reunion as both parties had met hardly two weeks ago, when the FISU delegates were in Bangkok for the Head of Delegation meeting of the 2007 Summer Universiade. Indeed, Dr. Wichit Srisa-an is also the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the 2007 SU. The Minister was accompanied by his Advisor Dr. Thongin Wongsothorn and Dr. Chinnapat Bhumirat, Deputy Permanent Secretary, of the Ministry of Education. Present also were His Excellency Mr. Pisan Manawapat, Ambassador of Thailand for Belgium, Dr. Junpen Meka-Apiruk, Minister Counsellor (Science and Technology) and Miss Busadee Santipitaks, Minister Counsellor, both Embassy Staff members. During the visit, the excellent working collaboration between FISU and the Thai Embassy regarding the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok was confirmed.
