2013 SU Kazan Marathon Arrives at FISU HQ

Today, May 28th, the FISU Headquarters was the setting of a Marathon Finish. Indeed, the Bidding Committee for the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia started a super marathon on May 9th which lasted for 20 days and bridged the distance Kazan-Brussels, 4,000 km to be exact. The Russian runners left Namur at 11h30 and arrived in Brussels at 18h00. They were welcomed at the FISU Headquarters by a representative delegation of the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Major of Kazan City Ilsour Metshin and Minister for Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Bariev and of course FISU President George Killian and Secretary-General Eric Saintrond, as well as some other members of the FISU Executive Committee.
On May 31st the FISU EC will attribute the 2013 Universiades. Candidates for the Winter edition is Maribor, Slovenia and for the Summer edition are Vigo, Spain; Gwangju, Korea and Kazan, Russia.
