A special stamp and a new post office unit within the University Village are only a fragment of what the Protocol on Cooperation involves. The ceremony took place at the Town Hall on February 20th in the presence of numerous distinguished guests, such as the Minister of Sports, Minister of Commerce, Deputy Mayor, President of the Olympic committe and many sports federations’ representatives. ’Universiade is a competition of a national importance and so PTT, as a national company, has recognised the need and interest to participate and take an active part in its preparation. We will open a post office unit within the Athletes’ Village and we also plan to issue a special letter stamp for the purpose of the Universiade’, said Mr. Goran Ciric, General Manager of PTT Serbia and he added that PTT will also provide all postal services for the athletes and their delegations. Beside this, PTT will promote the Universiade on all its units throughout Serbia which will significantly add to its popularity as it reached the widest public. ’With the prospect of organizing the best possible Universiade we have found a mutual interest and need to establish a good cooperation with PTT Serbia in order to provide logistics support prior and during the Games’, said Mr. Jasnic, General Manager of Universiade Belgrade 2009. ’Logistics is of a great importance when organizing large events and since the Universiade next year will be the largest event ever organised in Serbia we are happy that we will have such a strong support on this project’.
