Opening Ceremony of the 1st Asian University Table Tennis Championship

11 countries and regions and more than 200 participants came to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia for the 1st Asian University Table Tennis Championship. The matches began in the morning of April 24th, all the team players played very well in the field. In the evening of April 24, the Opening Ceremony was hosted in the national stadium of Mongolia. After the teams marching in, Mr. Naranbaatar, Chairman of the Mongolian State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports declared the championship officially open. Mr. Bayasgalan, FISU Treasurer and 1st Vice-President of the Mongolian Olympic Committee also attended the Opening Ceremony as VIP host. Dr. CHUNG Tong-gu, AUSF Senior Vice-President thanked the LOC for the organization of this great event.
After playing the Mongolian national anthem and the AUSF anthem, a cultural program with Mongolian ancient instrument playing and songs followed, and the Opening Ceremony ended with a great acrobatic show. It was heavily snowing in the morning of April 24th in Ulaanbaatar, “there is an old Mongolian saying, when we have snow in spring, it is the signal that we will have a very successful year!” Mr. Jagal, Secretary-General of MSSF said. The Mongolian national TV channel, TV-9, live-broadcasts the Opening Ceremony and all the matches.
