Two days prior to the start of the Head of Delegations' visit, the Winter Universiade Supervision Committee (CSU) met already in Harbin. Several topics regarding the 2009 Winter Universiade were on the agenda. Indeed, just a few months from the kickoff of the 24th Winter Universiade, the Harbin 2009 Organizing Committee has now entered the final preparatory phase. This very last stage is the most important and the CSU is there to share its experience and to help the OC. Under the lead of Kairis Ulp (EST), Chair of the Committee and Leonz Eder (SUI), Vice-Chair, the CSU carefully discussed all the relevant matters that will be pointed out during the Head of Delegations' meetings and visits. The CSU Members also made an overview about all the things they will have to disuss with the OC regarding the Winter Universiade preparation. Marian Dymalski (POL), Oleg Matytsin (RUS), CSU Members and Milan Augustin (SVK), Director for the Winter Universiade also attended this very important meeting.

The Victories Hotel in Harbin where all the FISU delegates are accommodated at this time will be the FISU Headquarters during the Winter Universiade. That is why all the CSU delegates paid a very long visit of some rooms, main restaurant and congress halls. After the lunch, the CSU members inspected the referees' hotels and the Athletes' Village. All the CSU members were very satisfied after this first day of meeting. Further to these inspections, Eric Saintrond, FISU Secretary General/CEO met with our TV consultants and with the people of the OC in charge of broadcasting to prepare the TV programme for this Universiade.

During the afternoon session, Mr Kolë Gjeloshaj, Chief of staff to the President paid a visit to the Harbin International Conference, Exhibition and Sports Centre, together with the people in charge of protocol. This visit was totally dedicated to the preparation of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. To conclude this first day, all the FISU delegates were invited to an official banquet hosted by Mr. Chen Youdong, Executive Vice-Chair of the Harbin OC and Vice Governor of the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province. The Vice-Governor was very happy to welcome all the participants as he has been involved in the Universiade from the very beginning. All the FISU delagates were very pleased to meet him again.
