Two bronze medals for The Netherlands

At the first day of the World University Cycling Championship 2008 the Netherlands already took two medals. Niels Wubben got the bronze medal at mountain bike cross-country event. Ingrid Bosscha did the same for this event in the women category. We had the pleasure to see two superb races. All the conditions were perfect for the running of these events. The competition for the first place in the women event was fantastic until the last round. First place went to Caroline Mani from France, the second place was for Maaris Meier from Estonia and the bronze medal for Ingrid Bosscha from Netherlands In the men competition the lead was took from the beginning by the Swiss rider but the competition for the three next place was really fantastic we must underline the excellent race of the Australian Norris Lachlan. Winner (men) was Till Marx, from the Swiss team, the second place goes to the Czech Jan Skarnitzl and the bronze for Niels Wubben from Netherlands. Nevertheless was the competition very thrilling as the technical (and dry) course was good for many ride pasts and fast times. The other Dutch favorite, Frank Schotman, had to end during the race because of a broken material and could not finish off the 6 laps.
