On July 28th, ODUPA, the Continental University Sports Federation of the Americas was officially presented in its seat in Montevideo, Uruguay. Present at the press conference were many authorities of the university world and the government. Since Julio Jakob has been appointed president of ODUPA, he resigned as president of the regional association COSUD, the South American University Sports Confederation. COSUD Vice-President Patricio Quiroz Gallguillos will replace him as interim President until the next General Assembly of COSUD, which will take place in Bógota, Columbia during the 3rd South American University Games in 2008.
